Sky Harbor Terminal 4

Sky Harbor Terminal 4 is the largest terminal at Phoenix Airport with 86 gates and lots of shops and retail concessions. It handles all international flights.

The terminal has won many awards given its features and concessions. It hosts over 80 percent of the airport passenger flow.

It hosts gate A, B, C and D areas with its own concessions.

It is named after Barry M. Goldwater, notable American politician and US senator from Arizona.

The terminal has 7 Concourses divided between North and South.

North Concourses:

- Gates A1 - A14. Operate American Airlines. It has an Admirals Club.

- Gates A15 - A30. Operate American Airlines. It has an Admirals Club.

- Gates B1 - B14. Operate American Airlines. It has an Admiral’s Club.

- International gates: Gates B15 - B28. Airlines: Air Canada, American, British Airways, Volaris, WestJet.
- International gates: B23 - B28. Airlines: Air Canada, American, British Airways, Volaris, WestJet.

South Concourses: Only serve Southwest Airlines

- Gates: C1 - C9

- Gates: C11 - C19

- Gates: D1 - D8

All concourses are connected to the parking garage levels 4-9 (Zone A, B, C and D).


Inter-terminal transportation

Terminals are connected by the PHX Sky Train, which stands for an automated train that travels between the airport terminals (T3 and T4), the East Economy Parking and Valley Metro Rail at 44th and Washington streets.

The service is free for passengers and general public.

Departures are done every 3-5 minutes. Service hours: 24/7.

- Terminal 3: Level 2.

- Terminal 4: Level 3.

To get to Terminal 2, there is a walkway that connects it from both Terminal 3 and Terminal 4.

On the other hand, Terminal 2, Terminal 3 and Terminal 4, are conveniently connected to the Rental Car Center by the Rental Car Shuttle. This service departs from the curb on the baggage claim level of every terminal. Frequency is of every few minutes.



Sky Harbor Terminal 4 consists of the levels displayed below:

  • First level: Arrivals. This is the Arrivals level. International Arrivals are located after baggage retrieval and customs clearance. Services: Currency exchange, paging phones, information counters, café. Access to the East Parking levels 4 to 9.

Find here the baggage claim area and other services such as ATMs, currency exchange, and ground transportation options, which are located at both east and north concourses.

From the first level of the main terminal, it is possible to connect to the following doors:

North Concourse Doors: 1, 3, 5 and 7.
South Concourse Doors: 2, 4, 6 and 8.

  • Second level: Check-in level. Find in this level the check-in facilities from North to South concourse.
  • Third level: Departures. This is the Departures level. Services: Food, drink and retail concessions in both north and south sides, information counter, paging and charging stations.

This level has separated security checkpoints for north and south concourses:

A & B: North side

D & C: South side

Also, boarding gates are distributed from north to south:

North: Security Checkpoint A is located here, leading to boarding gates A15 to A30 and A1 to A14; security checkpoint B leads to domestic gates B1 to B14 and B15 to B22 and international boarding gates B23 to B28.

Some airlines lounges are located in this section, including services such as information counter and currency exchange.

South: Security checkpoint C leads to boarding gates C1 to C10 and C11 to C20, and security checkpoint leads to gates D1 to D8.

Take the Sky Train to both Terminals 2 and 3, to the East Economy Parking and to the Valley Metro Rail.

Airport lounges

Sky Harbor Terminal 4 has at their passengers’ disposal the following lounges:

  • American Airlines Admirals Club: Airside, Concourse A, above gates A7 and A9.
  • American Airlines Admirals Club: Airside, Concourse A, between gates A19 and A21.
  • American Airlines Admirals Club: Airside, Concourse B, above gates B5 and B7.
  • British Airways lounge: Airside, between gates B21 and B23.
  • The Club at Phoenix Airport: Airside, end of North Concourse (between gates B21 and B23). Passengers no matter their airline are allowed to access to this lounge. General fare $40.00. From 02:00 pm to 7:30 pm British Airways passengers have priority.
